Venice

Last fall I took my mother to Rome and Venice. While in Venice we went over to the Island of Murano. Some of the materials I use in my mosaics are made there like the smalti and millefiori. Below are some examples of my work with the Italian materials.

The Coolest Place In California

This is the Queen Califia's Magic Circle in Escondido California it

The materials range from colored mirror, glass gems, ceramic tiles and stones.

The circular Snake wall is 400 feet long and ranges from 4 to 9 feet high

This scuplture is 24' x 22'x 20' and the egg is a solar powered fountain

Love the snakes!

There are a total of 8 totems ranging from 11 feet tall to 21 feet tall.

Tulips!

I picked these tulips up at the grocery store. They are locally grown up north in Mount Vernon Washington. Mid April through May the Tulip festival is being held in Mount Vernon

My Favorite Place In The World!

I love parrots so when we first went to Australia when I was in 5th grade it was so exciting to see wild parrots flying around. One Day we traveled from Brisbane up the Gold Coast to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and all my dreams came true I was able to have the wild parrots land on me and feed them. So when we went back to Australia in 2006 the one thing on my list was to go back and feed the rainbow lorikeets!

NW Mural I spoke with the tile installer Jeff and he says

I can make BIG panels instead of small so now the panels will be about 3' x 2-3'

Back To Get Glass

Wednesday I went back to Seattle to get glass. Living on a island is different when you go into Seattle every detail is planned so you dont miss the boat. (Below) Is a older ferry docked for work on Bainbridge Island.

This is the current ferry boats that are used to shuttle over 11 million cars and 26 million people a year.

Back from the city the glass survived the trip home. This glass is for the mural project on top is the blue for the sky, green for grass, brown for tree trunks, and dark green for trees.
